Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Pixel Island uses, why it is used, and how you can request access to or deletion of your account data.

Last updated: 15 August 2026

1. About this policy

Pixel Island is a browser-based gaming service. This Privacy Policy applies when you browse the site, create a player account, use supported cloud-save or favorites features, contact us, or choose an optional Google or Facebook sign-in method.

2. Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

  • Account information you provide, such as username, display name, email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Player data connected to your account, such as favorites, supported cloud-save data, control preferences and account activity needed to provide the service.
  • Information you submit through the contact form, including your name, email address, topic and message.
  • Basic technical information normally sent by your browser or server connection, such as IP address, browser/user-agent information, timestamps and security-related request data.
  • If optional analytics is enabled, usage information collected through Google Analytics according to Google's applicable terms and settings.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate and secure Pixel Island, authenticate player accounts, synchronize supported account features, respond to messages, prevent abuse, diagnose technical problems, maintain the service and understand aggregate site usage where analytics is enabled.

4. Google and Facebook sign-in

If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, you are redirected to that provider to authenticate. We request only the identity information needed to create or locate your player account, such as the provider's unique user identifier, name and email address when the provider makes it available.

Pixel Island stores the provider name and provider user identifier so the same social account can be recognized on future visits. Provider access tokens are used only to complete the sign-in flow and are not stored in the Pixel Island database.

Your use of Google or Facebook is also subject to the privacy terms and account controls provided by those companies.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use necessary cookies, browser storage and similar technologies for login sessions, optional remember-me sign-in, security, player preferences, supported saves and PWA/offline-shell functionality. These technologies are required for features you choose to use and are not disabled by the cookie banner.

If Google Analytics is configured, Analytics is treated as optional: its script is not loaded until you choose Accept all or enable Analytics in Cookie Preferences. You can reject non-essential cookies or change that choice later using Cookie Settings in the site footer.

6. Third-party services

The site may use third-party services including Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse protection, Google for optional sign-in and analytics, and Meta/Facebook for optional sign-in. When you use those services, information may be processed by the relevant provider according to its own privacy policy.

7. Sharing and sale of personal data

We do not sell player personal information. We may disclose information to service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate, secure or support the service, or where disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and security of the service and its users.

8. Data retention and security

We retain account and service data for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the account, maintain legitimate service records, resolve disputes, enforce security, or comply with applicable obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of personal data associated with your Pixel Island player account, including data associated with Google or Facebook sign-in.

  1. Open the Contact Us privacy/data request form.
  2. Choose Privacy / data request and state that you want your account and associated personal data deleted.
  3. Use the email address associated with your account where possible. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request to prevent unauthorized deletion.

After a verified deletion request is processed, the player account and directly linked social-login record can be removed, subject to information we may need to retain for security, legal or legitimate record-keeping purposes.

10. Your choices and rights

You can choose not to create an account or use social sign-in. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or other handling of your personal data. Use the privacy/data request option on the Contact Us page to make a request.

11. Children's privacy

Pixel Island is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances where parental consent is legally required. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the service, its providers or applicable requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
